Root Down started with a pattern that kept repeating: businesses spending real money on marketing — ads, websites, agencies — with no reliable way to know what any of it was doing. Tracking half-installed. Numbers that didn't matter. Reports full of impressions but empty of answers. The visible layer was getting all the attention while the foundation underneath it didn't exist.
Having launched eight companies of my own over the past decade, ranging from internationally recognized craft beer brands to globally ranked restaurants, I've spent my career on both sides of that problem. My focus was designing brands and building websites, and over the past few years, going deeper. I shifted my focus to building the tracking systems, automations, and custom operational tools that made the marketing actually measurable.
Most entrepreneurs and small business owners don't have the time or expertise to build this infrastructure themselves, and that's where Root Down comes in. Campaign management, conversion infrastructure, CRM builds, workflow automation. The work nobody sees, for businesses ranging from consumer product brands and ecommerce to trades and service companies.
That's the studio's whole thesis. We're not here to just make things pretty and hope for the best. We build the infrastructure first, so every decision after it gets easier. When the numbers are right, you know which ads to cut, which leads to chase, and where the next dollar should go. When they're wrong, you're just guessing with a nicer dashboard.
Root Down works from BC's Okanagan area with clients across Canada and the US. Small studio, senior level work, no hand-offs. The person you talk to about your project is the person who builds it.
